How do you catch a squrriel?

take a milk crate and attach a 5 lb weight to the bottom then go outside and put it on its side with nuts, crackers, peanut butter, bird seeds (anything a squirrel would eat basically) in front of the open side of the crate but only put a little bit in the center of where the crate would fall...take a line and attach it to the top of the milk crate with the open side facing you and lead the line back to your back door if you have one or you could just wait in the woods or something...look outside to see if the squirrel is taking the bait, if it is then be very careful and quickly pull the line so the crate falls, trapping the squirrel between the ground with the crate acting as a cage....also put a piece of cardboard where the crate falls so you can move the squirrel where ever it is your putting it...you can also catch birds, chipmunks, etc. with this trap, just duct tape the bigger holes so they cant wiggle themselves outHow do you catch a squrriel?

if its to keep as a pet dont bother as once they reach maturity they become very fiesty and nasty towards people and can become a threat to smaller animals and children by attacking them.


they live in nests called dreys which sit in the forks of the trees really high up from the ground (good luck with that)

If they are babies, then they will be in the trees in their nests. You can sometimes see squirrel nests in the winter when trees are bare. You won't see them until they are old enough to go exploring on their own, though under adult supervision. Lol





You can attract squirrels to your yard by putting out some peanut butter crackers. I would get a number of them to come by if I left some crackers out.





Why do you want to catch them? There are also traps you can set to catch them if you want to rid yourself of them. Just trap them and take them somewhere else.
Well I know my dog and my cats are very good at catching squirrels. Otherwise it depends. I wouldn't recommend trying to catch one as they can bite and carry diseases. But if you must must must, heres how: If its a tame squirrel that is used to humans and you have food like a nut it may just come up to you. Generally they will run away before you can catch them, so I wouldn't recommend that. But what I would do is to get a wire/ metal trap (a small size) and bait it with peanut butter, put it out overnight near trees and check it in the morning. Squirrels usually build nests very high up in trees out of leaves, and thats where the babies are born. My cat caught a flying squirrel once which was cool. I kept it until it was better then released it. I really do not recommend trying to catch wild animals. Maybe get a hamster or something.
have a huge jar of nuts, and wait till one comes but sit still, and wait till they eat it, and catch it. I've tried it (but wear gloves of course) and it worked, but i obviously let the squirriel go because im not mean. It was kinnda cute.
