Why did the chewing gum crossed the road /or what did one egg say to another egg/how do u catch a squrriel?

who gives the answers correct will get the points or notWhy did the chewing gum crossed the road /or what did one egg say to another egg/how do u catch a squrriel?
egg=u crack me upWhy did the chewing gum crossed the road /or what did one egg say to another egg/how do u catch a squrriel?
of the chewing gum=it was stuck on the leg of chicken

of egg=let's get cracking

of the squrriel=climb a tree and act like a nut
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
the chewing gum was stuck to the bottom of the chicken's foot, you catch a squirrel by hiding in a tree and acting like an acorn/nut, and the egg said ';let's get crackin';
the egg said to another egg that he was going to be catch a hen

only if he could speak
Hatch the eggs, have the chicks chew the chewing gum and speedwrap it around the squirels legs. Voila! All 3!
Why did the chicken cross the road?

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?

A: To get to the other side.

Although perhaps the most famous of all jokes in the English language, this joke is a Non-joke, in that its humor value comes from the fact that it is expected to be funny. Additionally, it is rarely told on its own, but instead is referenced, modified, or parodied in a number of other jokes.

One of the many word-plays on the television series M*A*S*H was spoken by Hawkeye when the power-mad Frank Burns ordered the entire unit to move just a few dozen yards for no reason at all: ';Why is this chicken outfit crossing the road?';

Q: Why did the turkey cross the road?

A: Because the chicken was on vacation.

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road in Texas?

A: To show the armadillo/opossum how it's done.

Q: Why did the chicken cross the M枚bius strip?

A: To get to the same side.

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?

A: Because it was too far to go around.

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?

A: Colonel Sanders [of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame] was chasing it.

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?

A: To see a man lay bricks.

In the film Stripes (done in march cadence):

Bill Murray: Why did the chicken cross the road?

(Platoon): To get from the left to the right!

Sometimes it is juxtaposed with another category of humor:
To get chew the other side/you crack me up/act like a nut.
yes to all.
idk, you shelfish b.asturd, pretnd to be thier cousin
the gum was stuck to a chicken
Chewing gum stuck to a chickens foot?

Neighbors brought over a baby squrriel?formula?

Okay so just a couple minutes ago our neighbors just brought over a baby squrriel that they're cat brought in but he is still alive and doesn't look badly injured. I wanna tell you that we have so far saved 6 baby squrriels in the past years from hurricanes or just any storm and they all have lived. I just wanna know what formula do you think I should use for just to get him through the night until tomorrow? Our neighbors brought along baby formula Good Start but I was thinking to myself that wouldn't be good. Or would it? Its sold by 2007 so thats one reason I was like :/... I dont know why but it is.

Should I just feed him that for tonight or is there a recipe for making homemade formula?

I feel bad for the poor little guy! But we sure will take loving care of him!

:)

Thanks!Neighbors brought over a baby squrriel?formula?
the formula I use and works very well even better then kitten formula is 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup evaporated milk, 1 tablespoon corn sryup, 1 teaspoon honey and 1 egg yolk. I use an eye dropper to feed them not the glass though because they chew on it and it could break. Hope this helps.Neighbors brought over a baby squrriel?formula?

From the sound of it, a pet formula such as Esbilac Puppy Formula is the best choice, or Pedialyte at first if the kit is dehydrated, later graduating to Esbilac. They ought to have them at your local pet shop or grocery store, and if they don't, I'm sure someone working there can direct you to a store that does.

The St. Francis site also has a hotline number (1-850-627-4151), as does Columbus Squirrel Rescue (1-706-322-5012), and they can probably give you excellent advice on what to feed the little guy until you can get to a pet store.

Hope that helps!

I want a baby squrriel or raccoon, I live in Mass, where do I get one?

Squirrels and raccoons are wild animals and I believe it is illegal to have them as pets in Mass. You should consider checking with an animal shelter for advice. You may be able to help raise young ones, but they should be returned to the wild where they belong, as soon as they can fend for themselves. Keeping wild animals as pets is doing them a gret disservice, and if you want to keep them as pets , many view this as a purely selfish reason.
With all due respect as you seem to be a caring person

Neither make good pets and will destroy your home if you try and domesticate them. Not only that, they are illegal to own.

Raccoons and squirrels are vicious by nature and would not make good companion animals. (ever see one react in one of those humane traps? Not a pretty site) You would have to keep it caged 100% of the time. This is not good for the well-being of the animal and you would never be able to cuddle with it. As much as you want to ';save the animals'; you really would be doing them a much better service by letting nature take its course. With wild animals, it is natural way of things to have survival of the fittest. If you want to help out animals, donate some of your time or money at your local animal shelter and help a homeless dog or cat who needs you.

Take care.
It is ILLEGAL to house them in a house in the state of MA. I have lived here in Boston since I was born in 1982 and still live here. Shelters will tell you it is illegal even the state will tell you that.

It is nice you want to help out but there is no way you will be able to get one, and if you do and someone sees that you have one all it takes is one call to animal control and they will take it away.

Also if you get one you can get in big trouble and the person that gave you it can get in big trouble as well. You are liable if someone gets attacked by the animal too.

I understand you have raised them before but it doesn't matter babies or not they are still considered illegal, and you can get in wicked big trouble for having them.

You can ask the question all you want but your going to get basically the same answers no matter how you ask or how many times you ask.

Anyone had any pet squrriel? where can you buy? how do yo keep it? how do you train it?

there alot of fun. but you cant train them like a dog. the older they get the wilder they are. let it outside when its able to take care of itself. for a while it will come to you when you go outside not cause it loves you like a dog but because its checking to see if you have food. as time goes on youll see less and less of him then one day hes gone. they will bite you sometimes too. if you capture one dont cage it youll never tame it completlyAnyone had any pet squrriel? where can you buy? how do yo keep it? how do you train it?
i think u can catch them in the wild

use a pokeball lol

but umm you take care of them like ferrets and hamsters

so you'd have to research on them

be sure to have a small tree or bunch of branches into the cage to make it happier!!Anyone had any pet squrriel? where can you buy? how do yo keep it? how do you train it?
Not sure about just wild squirrels , I breed Degus http://www.degus.org/ look a little like squirrels. Talk to your local exotic pet store and see if they can give you any information about them.
maybe u can try this website? http://sg.88db.com/sg/Views/landingpage.鈥?/a>
i dont know of anywhere thats its legal to own a pet squirrel.. I do wildlife rescue.. and save lots every year... I release them at about 6 months of age... they go wild very fast.. I have never had a tame one... and all were syringe fed by me.
Squirrels should not be forced into domestication. Let them remain wild, there's no way you could please all their desires, by keeping them in a cage.

  • Dead squrriel in pool?

okay get this my dad is pumping the water out of the above ground pool. no cover on the pool all winter this dead animal has been in it for well over 4 months just rotting away and when its about 2 feet high hes making me go in and scopping the water out with a bucket. what the hell their has to be some better way i mean this is like 2008 and we gotta go in and use buckets because the pump doesnt work that low? I dont feel like getting a disease is their some way the water would be safe to go in. say dump like 5 gallons of chlorine in it lolDead squrriel in pool?
a pump will probably suck up the bottom liner of the pool

try using a garden hose and just syphon it out that way. It will take awhile but no damage to the pool linerDead squrriel in pool?
That happened to me, believe it or not. We found a dead squirrel floating at the top of our hot-tub. There are trees above it and there was also a branch in the tub, so my guess was that the squirrel was climbing, fell, and drowned. It was disgusting, though. Took it out with the net we used to take leaves out of the pool and put it in a garbage bag...
the pump should work that low. get a longer hose or pretend to be sick (dizzy, that way you can't walk). there's no reason the pump won't work except that the hose won't reach over the side of the pool. or go over a friend's house until he's all done with the pool, make him do it. ; )
Here is an idea. Get a net and remove the squirrel. Then, go get a sump pump and pump the water out.
if you do not want to get your hands dirty with the dead squirrel, pick it up with your teeth!
    try a cellar pump!

    Squrriel Tree Frog?????? :D?

Is it safe to touch? it seems a bit jumpy- i found it in a bin without any water near my aunts house- i wonder how it ended up there, it was about to get eaten my my cousins dog! +_+

so i have a unused 10 - 20 gallon tank for turtles (idk the size its about 10-20) is that alright? I dont have any pond near my house, and its REALLY dry here- we even have a drought season 0_0 , so i wanted to save the poor thing- i think it ate some crickets while i was here, im planning to just leave the tank open so it can come by if it wants, and im going to put 3 in of water then pile it with rocks =) i hope thats okay-,,, kay thanks =DSqurriel Tree Frog?????? :D?
ummm you shouldnt hand amphibians more than necessary prolonged exposure to salts, chemicals and oils on (and produced by) your skin can lead to problems ranging from skin infections to poisoning so handling should be kept to a minimum.Squrriel Tree Frog?????? :D?
Its safe to touch. We play with them all the time. They change colors and its fun. I think that might be too much water. They live in trees, so put some branches in there. It would be great if they had leaves, but you would have to change them like daily.
    i have a monkey too

    that's too bad
how could you possible manage to lose to a squirrel?
Well, he weighed 200 lbs. You are lucky he didn't sit on you.
    I'm sorry I won Lois.

    Better luck next time.

    Name that (squrriel) song?

I need help finding out what this squirrel song is called. I'll try as best to describe it.

This is a weird squirrel techno song. In the intro, the melody is a squrriel um... humming things. Then the techno kicks in and then you hear boom boom boom boom boom boom boom.

    Then theres a keyboard melody (i can hear it in my head) that goes: A F C, CCCC F A G(lol i spelled..nvm =). F G A F A C Bb, F G A A G G F.

Then it repeats like no other.....

    then this squirrel talks with percussin in the backgroun. saying something ';cmon everybody lets move your feet... something dance around ....blah bnlah blah';

    and so on...

so what the heck is this stupid song called, its been buggin me.

    Please thx.Name that (squrriel) song?

Theory of three phase ac voltage controller for the speed control of squrriel cage induction motor?

introduction, circuit diagram, theory and waveformsTheory of three phase ac voltage controller for the speed control of squrriel cage induction motor?
A principle of frequency conversion is derived from the fact that a dual converter is able

to supply an ac load with a lower frequency than the system frequency. If the control

signal of the dual converter is a function of time, the output voltage will follow this

signal. If this control signal value alters sinusoidally with the desired frequency, then the

waveform depicted in the figure below consists of a single-phase voltage with a large

harmonic current. If the load is inductive, the current will present

less distortion than voltage. The cycloconverter operates in all four quadrants during a

period. A pause (dead time) at least as small as the time required by the switch-over logic

occurs after the current reaches zero, that is, between the transfer to operation in the

quadrant corresponding to the other direction of current flow. Three single-phase

cycloconverters may be combined to build a three-phase cycloconverter. The three-phase

cycloconverters find an application in low-frequency, high-power requirements. Control

speed of large synchronous motors in the low-speed range is one of the most common

applications of three-phase cycloconverters. They are also used to control slip frequency

in wound rotor induction machines, for super-synchronous cascade

    Squirrel-cage induction motor with cycloconverter

Consequently, the windings cannot be connected in wye or

delta, but must be isolated from each other. Motor speed is varied by applying

appropriate gate pulses to the thyristors, to vary the output voltage and frequency. For

example, the speed of a 2-pole induction motor can be varied from zero to 1500 r/min, on

a 60 Hz line, by varying the output frequency of the cycloconverter from zero to 25 Hz.

IMO, this is the best ';value'; air rifle $$ can buy...

    All weapons should be handled as if they WILL kill, for safety purposes. The first rule of gun safety is, ';Never point your muzzle at anything you don't intend to kill.'; So if your question is ';Can I plink at squirrels just to scare them, WITHOUT killing them?'; then the answer is ';Don't try it!';

However, if your question is, ';I want to go squirrel hunting; is this gun adequate?'; bear in mind that a hunter is obliged to kill humanely and legally. I do not consider your weapon the best choice for a humane kill. It may not even be legal. Check the hunting regulations for your jurisdiction to see if certain equipment is prescribed or prohibited. In the process, you will also learn other important information, such as license requirements, seasons, and bag limits.
Your gun has a muzzle energy of 6.94 ft-lbs of energy. You need 3 ft-lbs of impact energy (415 fps impact velocity with 8 grain pellets) to kill a squirrel. Your pellet rifle will deliver that out to around 20-25 yards and can kill squirrels at that distance provided you can hit the squirrel in either vital organs or the head at those distances.

That said... Personally I wouldn't try using to kill squirrels at beyond about 50 feet because there isn't a lot of margin for error at longer range (which you'd get with a more powerful airgun).
If you hit a vital area you stand a good chance of killing the squirrel.

Heart and lungs- head or spinal shots are most effective.

Your weapon is not fast enough to humanely shoot at moving targets so a still shot as close as you can get will work best.

    Hunt safe.
If you are a good shot, then yeah. But make sure you're not making it suffer. If you are, bag the pellet rifle and get a rifle with a few more balls. Get like a Savage. They are good rifles. Try a 17 or something.
With in 50 feet and hit in a vital organ it will. Do you know how to skin, clean and cook a squirrel? other wise there isn't much sense in shooting one.
HEAD SHOT!!!!!! but if it dosent completely kill it then you need to take further action and cut its throat (be carefull the animal can still bite if its not dead)!!!!
Yes it can kill a squirrel if you aim at its chest or head. The squirrels skin isn't very thick and with the power your rifle has it can easily kill one.
Maybe, more likely would wound it severely.

    Leave squirrels be!
you could depending where u hit it
    it could.

    Squrriel with Hypothermia?

A few minutes ago I found a swimming alive squirrel in my pool.... We fished him out and we think he has hypothermia... We brought him into the warthm and am being very careful with him. He's in a cage, warming up. We aren't sure if his little leg is broken. I named him Willie, but now I need to help him. We aren't sure if he has hypothermia or has water in his lungs. Please help!Squrriel with Hypothermia?
Call a vet's office or any wildlife organization that is close to you, they will probably be able to help you.Squrriel with Hypothermia?
With hypothermia, you just need to warm him up (gradually). You can do this with a heat lamp, heating pad, hot water bottles, etc. If he has water in his lungs (aspiration pneumonia) then unfortunatley he will most likely die. Animals have a very hard time recovering from this. He will need to see an exotic vet or call someone from a rehabilitation center that knows how to care for them. You can get online and search for the Parks and Wildlife website for your state (for example, im in texas so i just type in Texas Parks and Wildlife in the search engine and the first one is the website I need) Then you go to rehabilitation, search by county, and there should be the names of volunteer rehabilitators and the animals they specialize in (deer, squirrels, birds, etc.). There will be a number and you can call anytime. They can help you the most, and most likely will come get the animal and take him back with them to attempt to save him and release him back into the wild. Please dont consider keeping him as a pet, especially if he is already an adult.
Call your local Animal control and get the name of a wildlife rehabilitator. You don't want to have to go through rabies shots over a squirrel. It's just too dangerous for you to try to help him. And he won't do well in captivity.
When I bottle fed pups and a couple times they got so excited that they got fluid into lungs, I held Them upside down(fully supporting body) and patted them on the back, just a little harder than burping a baby. With a wild squirrel you would probably need to wrap in a towel. By the way i knew they had fluid in their lungs cause I could hear bubbling when they breathed in and out. Good Luck!! I am a softy for squirrels. I used to have one that I bottle fed(to save it's life) and it ended up a pet for several years, until I started to feel bad that it never got to experience the outdoors.

Anyone had any pet squrriel? where can you buy? how do yo keep it? how do you train it?

owning a pet squrriel is not a good idea... first it is a wild animal who only knows of the out doors, second you can get major fines for even touching wildlife in some states. They carry diseases and are not human friendly..please reconsider this.Anyone had any pet squrriel? where can you buy? how do yo keep it? how do you train it?
hmm... don't you need a permitt or something? I once had a flying squirrel... it was cute. It lived for several years... sweet personality. I'm not sure where to get one though, my aunt gave me it and I think her friend gave it to her to care for. Anyway, if you do get a hold of one, cats and dogs would go after her so be aware!

    Squrriel Problem?

I have squrriels in my attic, whats the best way I can get them all out, so that I can then go ahead and patch the holes. I know for a fact there is a nest w/ babies as well in there. I want to stay away from using rat poision because my attic is very large with many small areas where the squrriels could potentially die at. I would prefer to just kick them out.Squrriel Problem?
The best advice I can give you is to scatter some moth balls around and some hot pepper flakes, they hate these, and you can use an electronic rodent repellent, you plug it in and they should leave, They also hate steel wool, they hit it with their noses and it picks them.Squrriel Problem?
    idk shoot em lol idk
You could sprinkle Moth Balls in your attic. They won't eat them, so it won't kill them.... my grand-mother just always said that the smell would ';run them off'; and keep them out for good. That's my only suggestion, without killing them. Good luck!
Try your local animal control deptartment. They have cages that they can set to catch the critters...and they will come and pick them up also. If any one tellsa you to put moth balls up there.....DON'T!!!!!!!!! They will make your whole house smell awful!!!! Be careful..because they chew through wires and can cause electrical fires.

How to take care of a tiny squrriel?

I live in the mountains (in Montana) and have had squirrels as pets.

If it is a baby you can feed it sweetened condensed milk with an eye-dropper or baby formula if you have some ... if it's bigger than a baby they eat nuts and peanut butter .

basically , treat it like a rat , it sleeps in a nest of shredded paper , keep it warm and dry , and play with it the same as any other critter .How to take care of a tiny squrriel?
feed him to a snake. that will take care of him.How to take care of a tiny squrriel?
I personally like to use chainsaws to ';take care of it'; but you can use anything from a gun to a knife, or even a mouse trap.
keep it in cage.and holes in the cage should be very minute.don't show it to a snake or cat.lock the cage properly.do not allow it to run away to your garden.be very careful.
DONT LET HIM NEAR YOUR NUTS!!!!!!

i suggest STAMPING ON HIM or catching him in a net and DROWNING HIM.

alternatively you could put him in the microwave and video it, then put it on youtube
Try to keep him out of your tiny pants.
Take him to an animal control center, SPCA, or vet. I wouldn't recomend taking care of a wild animal yourself, especially if it's young.

What is soemthing that u can feed a squrriel?

My aunt has a squirrel and she had trouble with this too. Without the correct nutrients it can have seizures, hair loss, and it can also cause death.

We researched the internet and this is what we came up with.

If you are keeping it as a pet, ferret vitamins that go in the water help with making sure it gets the right vitamins.

    Nuts, seeds and fruit!

Be careful with peanuts, make sure they are unsalted.

Bird foods and treats are a great source of what they need, I have included a store made for pet squirrels. Many bird food treats have fruit in them.

    Peanuts.
Any kind of nut some will eat bird seed. If you want to give them peanut butter make sure you take it out of the jar for them. They will try too store it in there cheeks and get stuck and it hard to get them out (wear gloves)
Peanuts in the shell. Unsalted, please. :)

Im a begginer hunting hunting deer, squrriel, and rabbit. What gun should I buy?

Only a shotgun has the capability of a wide variations of cartridges to hunt all the animals you asked about....

Game loads like these Remington Game Load can take the Squirrel's and Rabbit's......

    http://www.remington.com/products/ammuni鈥?/a>

And slugs can be used on deer......

    http://www.remington.com/products/ammuni鈥?/a>

Keep in mind no one gun can do it all.... The shotgun is great for closer ranges and can hit a wide variety of game....

Rifles have more long range reach but you cant use a deer rifle on a rabbit... Its too powerful.....

Either get a shotgun or 2 rifles. One high power rifle for deer and a lower power rifle like a .22 or .17HMR for small game......

The Remington 870 is an excellent choice.......

Im a begginer hunting hunting deer, squrriel, and rabbit. What gun should I buy?
If you don't have a lot of money or don't want to buy a lot of guns, go with the .410 gauge. Yea, go ahead and laugh people, but the .410 has and still does kill deer. This gun is a great all around survival gun. Taking squirrels and rabbits is no issue either. My first year, first day deer hunting, I shot a 10 point buck with my .410 single shot. I have also shot many rabbits and squirrels with it, even pheasant. Good luck! Im a begginer hunting hunting deer, squrriel, and rabbit. What gun should I buy?
For deer, I would suggest getting a .243 rifle (maybe a bolt action). I have a .243 bolt action and the kick isn't that bad. Also, I prefer a bolt action over a semi-auto because their a lot easier to clean.

And for squirrel and rabbit, I would suggest getting a 20 ga. Semi-auto, Pump, Over/under or Side-by-side depends on your preference and how much your willing to pay.
I can help you with a rabbit rifle: the Crosman Rabbit Stopper .22 cal. CO2 Air Rifle. Here are its features:

    鈥?Power Source: CO2

    鈥?Calibre: .22 (5.5 mm)

    鈥?Max Velocity: up to 600 fps (183 m/s)

    鈥?Capacity: Single shot

    鈥?Length: 39.75鈥?(101 cm)

    鈥?Weight: 4 lbs. 12 oz. (2.15 kg.)

鈥?Material: Barrel: Rifled steel, Stock: American hardwood

I have it and I can assure you that it will kill a rabbit at 35 yards with no problems. However, I don't know if it is suitable for deer hunting. For squirrel I think it will do just fine.

    Hope this helps.
Honestly, I would suggest the 12 gage shotgun if you are only wanting to purchase one right now. It was my first gun I had bought to hunt with and you can hunt everything you had listed with this one gun. I would later purchase a .22 cal in order to get the squirrel with one shot instead of multiple shots as you would in a shotgun shell. There is a lot less meat to work with on a squirrel.
You need at least two. A bolt action .243 for deer (some will say you need a 30-06, but the .243 is very effective with less recoil), and a 20 gauge for rabbits and squirrels. A 12 gauge would work for those as well, as would a .22 in some cases.

You can do this with one gun, such as the one at the link below, but it wouldn't be the best gun for any of these game animals.
i started hunting about ten years ago and i hunt deer, elk, duck, and squirrel. i have tried many different guns but for u i would do this...

for the deer get a .223, .270, or . 280. these can get a little pricey but they are well built and have pretty good accuracy.

for squirrel and other small game i would get a .410 shotgun or a .22. a 12Gauge would work to but it blows the squirrels up! i have a Remingtonn .410/.22 and love it!! its never let me down. when i say .410/.22 i mean the barrels are interchangeable. i got it at a walmart.

hope this helps and good luck!!
I would suggest a Marlin 336 30-30 or Remington 700 .308 for deer, and either a Ruger 10/22 or Marlin Model 60 .22 LR for small game.

There are very few options** that would cover all of the game you want to hunt, one that would is the Savage 24V 30-30/20ga

**Outside of buying a 12ga and using slugs for deer.
U need a diff gun for the deer than the little game. I use a .273 winchester or a 30-06 for deer. For the small game, I'd use a shotgun of a 22 with birdshot.
For squirrel and rabbbit with a beginning hunter I recommend a shotgun such as a 20 guage. For deer I shoot a .270 but there are several good deer rifles.
just a basic bolt action .243 from remington for your deer hunting and a remington 870 express 20 guage for the other two
30-30 is good for deer, but will blow up squirrels and rabbits so i suggest a .22
20 GA shotgun to start with - it's your best weapon to get all three

  • Natural Squrriel Deterent?

Squrriel Issues in my attic. Looking for a natural or manmade product that can applied in the attic that will get those critters hitting the road. Using one of those electric nusiannce things that works on soundwaves most likely won't be feasible. Because I live in a victorian house and there just isn't a power supply(even with use of exstension cord) near enough.Natural Squrriel Deterent?
You'd have to check on this, but I've heard that using the scent of foxes or other squirrel enemies will deter squirrels. You should search online for a bottle of this scent and then apply it to the rafters or where ever you think they are entering the attic.

    Good luck.

I searched and here's a soundwave repellant that works on batteries: http://www.safepetproducts.com/pilot.asp鈥?/a>Natural Squrriel Deterent?
    Cat. Ferret. Live Trap.

Seal the entry points with 1/2'; metal screen or even chicken wire and expanding foam.

Seriously, if they smell cat/ferret they will probably not stick around long, so if you have a friend with one of those beasts, stick it up in your attic for a couple days.
a BB gun or rifle works great or even a .22 rifle if you live in the country
By Gosh You have squirrels too!

My wife been asking around where she works, and on some TV show. That WHOLE PEPPERCORNS if placed around the squirrels entry way and spread around your attic will deter these dang pest animals! But she also warns me not to get any on your landscape or lawn has they may kill the area they land on!
you can wait until they are out of the attic during the day then go up and sprinkle blood meal around any area where they are able to get in (or to be safe sprinkle it around all the outer walls)

How much does it cost for a good squrriel hunting gun like a 410?

buying a gun but dont know how much it costHow much does it cost for a good squrriel hunting gun like a 410?
A used one should be about 100$ - 150$ a new one a little more. How much does it cost for a good squrriel hunting gun like a 410?
When you are hunting squirrels, a 22LR rifle works pretty good too.

For both 410 shotguns and 22LR rifles, you can probably find a simple bolt action or single shot on the used rack of larger gun stores for a little under $100. If you were to buy the least expensive new semiauto 22LR or single shot 410 you'd pay probably around $125. If you were to get a nice 22LR rifle like a Ruger 10/22 probably $175, a pump action 410 shotgun like Remington 870 express or a Mossberg 500 probably around $300
It will all depend on which gun you buy. You can buy a cheap single shot for about $150 or you can buy something more expensive. Actually, a .410 is not all that good of a squirrel gun. I know many squirrels have been taken with a .410 but you really have to be a good shot to get your limit with a .410. There just isn't much shot in a .410 shell. Another consideration is that tin most cases, .410 shells are more expensive than 20 ga. or 12 ga. If recoil is a concern, get a 20 ga. I'd recommend a Mossburg 500. You can probably find a nice used one for somewhere in the $200 range. You will be much happier with a 20 ga. than you will with a .410 and you will be able to find ammo easier and in more varieties of loads.
For one thing, unless you are an experienced shotgunner, I'd not call a .410 shotgun a squirrel gun.

In fact, unless required to hunt with shotguns, I'd not call any shotgun a squirrel gun. IMO, squirrel guns are rifles.

A good .22 makes a fine squirrel gun and a Marlin Model 60 or Ruger 10/22 would be fine in the budget range of .22's. With a little luck, you can find either of these rifles under $200.00 or not much over.

My favorite squirrel rifle is a Marlin Model 39 lever-action .22 rifle, but it is lots more expensive than the Model 60, but it is worth it..

    Doc
mossbergs and remington are the middle grade shotguns, look at the prices of them in the links below, and then compare. H%26amp;R is not bad, but if you can afford a little more try to buy at least a mossberg. the second link describes the different types of barrels if you ever intend to use slugs.
Avoid the .410 Shotgun.... A .22 would be fine but if its a shotgun you want then surely consider a 20 gauge...

This is a good choice.... Mossberg 500... About $250...

    http://www.mossberg.com/images/Mossberg_鈥?/a>

For about $125 you can get an H%26amp;R Pardner single shot shotgun....

    http://www.hr1871.com/Firearms/Shotguns/鈥?/a>

Do not let the cheap price make you think this gun doesn't perform... It does!! I own many excellent rifles and shotguns and have got to tell you this Pardner is fairly accurate and fun to shoot....
I'm voting more or less with the rest of the crowd. If you're hunting for sport, a 22 rifle is a better choice. If you're hunting for meat, go with a shotgun, by all means, but not a 410. It has about the same amount of shot as a 28 guage, but with a long shot string that makes it inferior. A 20 guage would be much more suitable. One of the above answers has good links for that. My personal preference in shotguns is to get bird guns, normally doubles, that can be drafted for additional use...but they ain't cheap. Just as a look at what I'm talking about, this is probably my next shotgun purchase: http://www.cz-usa.com/product_detail.php鈥?/a> .This is not a recommendation, just an idea of how there are alternatives.
.410 is the smallest shotgun out there. Ammo costs a bit high. Legal to hunt deer -w- a .410 slug in Missouri as of last year.

Use a .22 for squirrel, unless you shooting up in the tree, then use a .410.

Never shoot a .22 up in a tree.
A single-shot .410 shotgun will typically cost about $100-$150. Another popular squirrel gun, the .22LR bolt action will cost slightly more, but in the same $100-$150 range.
a singleshot .410 should be available new at discount stores for a little over $100

    http://www.hr1871.com/Firearms/Shotguns/鈥?/a>

Squirrel is a job for a .22 rifle, IMO.
I agree save some money on your firearm and ammo and get a nice 10-22 or something along those lines.
A break open single shot like a New England will run you between $ 99 %26amp; $ 150
I've seen used single shot .410 shotguns as low as $60, but the average price is around $100
YOU WOULD BE ALOT BETTER OFF WITH A 22 NO PELLETS BUT EITHER WAY ABOUT 100 AND UP

How do you catch a squrriel?

do you do something special to get it's attention?

where do you find them as babies? How do you catch a squrriel?
take a milk crate and attach a 5 lb weight to the bottom then go outside and put it on its side with nuts, crackers, peanut butter, bird seeds (anything a squirrel would eat basically) in front of the open side of the crate but only put a little bit in the center of where the crate would fall...take a line and attach it to the top of the milk crate with the open side facing you and lead the line back to your back door if you have one or you could just wait in the woods or something...look outside to see if the squirrel is taking the bait, if it is then be very careful and quickly pull the line so the crate falls, trapping the squirrel between the ground with the crate acting as a cage....also put a piece of cardboard where the crate falls so you can move the squirrel where ever it is your putting it...you can also catch birds, chipmunks, etc. with this trap, just duct tape the bigger holes so they cant wiggle themselves outHow do you catch a squrriel?
why the hell do you want to catch a squirrel?

if its to keep as a pet dont bother as once they reach maturity they become very fiesty and nasty towards people and can become a threat to smaller animals and children by attacking them.

they live in nests called dreys which sit in the forks of the trees really high up from the ground (good luck with that)

    http://www.scarysquirrel.org/special/pet鈥?/a>
If they are babies, then they will be in the trees in their nests. You can sometimes see squirrel nests in the winter when trees are bare. You won't see them until they are old enough to go exploring on their own, though under adult supervision. Lol

You can attract squirrels to your yard by putting out some peanut butter crackers. I would get a number of them to come by if I left some crackers out.

Why do you want to catch them? There are also traps you can set to catch them if you want to rid yourself of them. Just trap them and take them somewhere else.
Well I know my dog and my cats are very good at catching squirrels. Otherwise it depends. I wouldn't recommend trying to catch one as they can bite and carry diseases. But if you must must must, heres how: If its a tame squirrel that is used to humans and you have food like a nut it may just come up to you. Generally they will run away before you can catch them, so I wouldn't recommend that. But what I would do is to get a wire/ metal trap (a small size) and bait it with peanut butter, put it out overnight near trees and check it in the morning. Squirrels usually build nests very high up in trees out of leaves, and thats where the babies are born. My cat caught a flying squirrel once which was cool. I kept it until it was better then released it. I really do not recommend trying to catch wild animals. Maybe get a hamster or something.
have a huge jar of nuts, and wait till one comes but sit still, and wait till they eat it, and catch it. I've tried it (but wear gloves of course) and it worked, but i obviously let the squirriel go because im not mean. It was kinnda cute.
You don't, unless you want him to give you a good bite.
    Peanut Butter.

if he is around 7 weeks.. u can release him in about 6 more weeks. good luck..Tips or ideas on raising grey squrriel?
Squirrels require constant, around-the-clock attention when they are young, and are not really up to being ';raised'; by humans. While it's young, you have to feed it about every 20 minutes with formula, or else it can get very sick. The best suggestion I can think of is contacting a wildlife refuge nearby to see if they can pick it up, because unless you have years of experience with handling wildlife, it is nearly impossible to provide the type of care a wild animal such as a squirrel needs. It's not like a hamster or a gerbil or any other domesticated pet.
Contact a nearby wildlife refuge because humans are not fit for taking care of squirrels properly.
Yeah, don't let it at your furniture.

Also, they love birdseeds. Don't spoil it if your going to let it out again though, it might not survive in the wild.

Keep it in a cage or something at night, because I swear they will eat your entire house.

It happened to my barbeque cover. :[
Make sure you have a warm place for the squirrel to sleep, a warm water bottle in a cage is preferable. Make sure the squirrel can't escape the cage or else he could get stuck and die.

Just as a warning, when squirrels are adults they are extremely territorial. Our squirrel Buddy would attack our house guests because he felt that they were intruding in his territory. You will need a large cage with multiple levels. Also know that squirrels are extremely curious and destructive. Don't be surprised if he breaks and destroys many things in your house.

Squirrels are a major commitment, more so than any domestic animal. If you have any doubts on whether you can care for the animal please give it to a wildlife rehabilitation center. Best of luck to you and your squirrel.

What is the habitat needed for a flying squrriel?

what are some biotic and abiotic facts for this animal? What is the habitat needed for a flying squrriel?
Southern flying squirrels occur in the eastern half of the United States and Canada, ranging to the Atlantic with its western limit running between central Minnesota and central Texas. It ranges south to the Gulf of Mexico and throughout Florida; the northern boundary of its range runs roughly from northern Minnesota to central Maine and southern Nova Scotia. In Mexico and Central America, two distinct populations are known. One occurs in southeast Sonora, southwest Chihuahua, and northwest Durango. The other spans the higher elevations of central and southern Mexico, including Tamaulipas, Jalisco, Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Chiapas, and parts of Guatemala and Honduras.

The range of southern flying squirrels overlaps that of northern flying squirrels in its northernmost parts, including northern Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan, New England, and southern Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. There are isolated regions in West Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina where both species can be found.

In Kansas southern flying squirrels are found in the eastern third of the state, being fairly restricted to thick stands of deciduous forest. Populations are known from Cherokee, Doniphan, Douglas, Leavenworth, Sedgwick, Shawnee, and Wyandotte counties.

Pine and hardwood trees provide suitable foraging and nesting habitat for flying squirrels, while dead trees, called ';snags';, are also important nest sites. The squirrels construct nests in tree branches or in cavities excavated by other animals, often woodpeckers. They also occupy artificial nest boxes. Nests are used by the squirrels on a daily basis, where various combinations of adults and juveniles may share a single nest, or as maternity sites, where a single female will keep her litter. Nests are lined with shredded bark, moss, lichens, leaves, and feathers. Flying squirrels tend to occupy cavities with smaller entrance holes, while other cavity-nesters, such as eastern grey squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) and fox squirrels (S. niger), prefer cavities with larger openings, reducing the number of cavities available to flying squirrels. As a strategy to reduce competition for nest sites, female flying squirrels may move away from higher-quality foraging habitat to construct maternity nests in snags.

Differing preferences for sizes of nest cavities are just one example of resource partitioning displayed by the various squirrels coexisting within a forest. Another such example is that of partitioning of foraging habitat. Flying squirrels are the most arboreal of the squirrels, meaning that they are least likely to descend to the forest floor and prefer to occupy the highest levels of the forest. Consequently, only mature forest stands with complete canopies are suitable for these squirrels; flying squirrels are rarely found in younger forests. The most preferred forest types have relatively open upper levels, for ease of gliding, with complex, covered lower levels for protection against predators. Additionally, flying squirrels do not respond well to forest fragmentation; continuous stands of forest with an area greater than about 5 hectares are required for this species. Conservation of flying squirrels in the face of forest harvest requires the maintenance of strips of mature forest, known as ';greenbelts';, and significant numbers of snags for nesting habitat. Occupation of artificial nest boxes by flying squirrels increases near fragmented areas, and the addition of these boxes may be an important facet in the conservation of flying squirrels in compromised habitat.

What's the best way to kill a squrriel?

I don't want to buy a gun a BB gun would be nice or rabbit traps or any other optionWhat's the best way to kill a squrriel?
the best way to kill a squirrel is with a twelve gauge shotgun using about a number 6 shot. it is perfectly legal if you do it during a time when season is open and you possess a valid hunting permit.

that being said, i'm guessing this theory don't apply to your situation because you are just wanting rid of it because it is a nuisance, and if you live in the city, you would instantly be labeled as a criminal and everybody within a half mile would flip out just because they see you with a gun.

furthermore, i'm sure that if you do live in the city then you also prob know that if you were to fire a gun for any reason, you would be lucky if you didn't get put in jail.

now for the best part: i'm sure that PETA would try and have you sent to the electric chair for harming the poor defenseless little animal. If this animal caused you a million dollars worth of damage, you still wouldn't have the right to harm it. (of course you would be on your own trying to pay for repair, they certainly aren't going to help with that.)

you will have to make your own choice i guess, but it seems to me that the stakes are much higher than they really should be. this is just one tiny example of how we over complicate and allow political correctness to drag us down at our own expense. What's the best way to kill a squrriel?
Why kill it! buy a harmless cage trap. Put some peanuts in the trap. when you catch the squirrel take the trap to a park or wooded area and let the squirrel go. Make sure it's about a mile from your house. If you don't want to handle this an exterminator can do the job.
I am afraid you are going to have to borrow a gun of some kind or use a sling shot ($8.00) from wal mart. Poisoning a squirrel is not that easy if it doesn't smell right he want eat it. (pretty smart rodent.) Good luck.

My cat caught a live squrriel, should I have animal activated?

It kept stuggling, And squealing I didn't know what to do

    - it have it around the neck

    -wouldn't let go

    - should I have rescued it and taken it to a vet?

    -it looked really bad

or should I have let nature take it's course, predetor vs preyMy cat caught a live squrriel, should I have animal activated?
The best thing that might have happened is that you saved the squirrel and made your cat mad for a couple of hours. however; this is likely not the outcome you would have gotten.

You very likely would have been attacked by both your cat and the squirrel and then it could be you who needs to be checked and treated for rabies once you were stitched up and after that the squirrel quite likely would have died from injuries it had already sustained.

It is hard to watch your cat go after any animal, much less one as fun to watch as a squirrel, but it is the way of nature. Just make sure your kitty's shots are up to date and hope for the best. Of course, you do not want to encourage this behavior, but do not actively punish your cat because (s)he won't understand why (s)he is being punished.

Alternately you could keep your cat indoors and make sure it has lots of toys .. perhaps something with feathers and/or fur with catnip inside??My cat caught a live squrriel, should I have animal activated?
Leave it alone, let it back outside.
Um yeah let nature run it's course on that one. My step-daughter tried to rescue a mouse from one of my cats and the mouse wound up biting her, so just leave it alone.
No, you should not try to grab an injured squirrel; it very likely could have bit you. If your cat doesn鈥檛 have a current rabies vaccination, he needs to go to the vet now. Cats are hunters and what yours did wasn鈥檛 wrong, but keep yours inside if this practice bothers you.
U should report this bad behavior 2 the authorities.

Get a broom n try 2 scare ur cat away w/ it n remove that squirrel but b very careful w/ it, it may have rabies.
just let nature takes it course

    Monkeys for Sale!

    ';Ooooh! They are so cute! I want a monkey!';

If you are like many, you think a monkey/chimp would be the perfect pet. They're just like little babies and they can do much more than a dog or cat. Look on tons of bulletin boards and you see people with ads wanting an inexpensive (or free) monkey.

Well, let us see if we can talk some sense into you. See, monkeys and chimps are not good pets. Let's start with chimps.

Chimps are really cute. No denying that. They are smart and share 98.5% of the human genes. Baby chimps are also expensive. Plan on up to $50,000 for a baby. (Older ones are at least $10,000 and sometimes much more.) They are very much like human children and require full time care. You will carry the baby chimp around with you pretty much all the time. If you are lucky, you will have full time help so you can get a little breathing room. You can't hire a typical baby sitter like you would for children. No more weekends at a bed and breakfast and vacations are hard to work in unless you have a chimp nanny!

Chimps also throw temper tantrums - just like regular children. The only problem is that chimps can be seven times stronger than a grown man. They bite and can cause serious injury. Did I mention that the males enter adolescence around or before they are five years old? They can live 25-35 years. You will need a huge cage (think room or small house size) or a climate-controlled habitat. It's not uncommon for the cages/environments to cost up to tens of thousands of dollars.

Lets not forget medical care. A lot of people take their chimps to human doctors but your insurance won't pay for them. That means a single doctor visit can easily run you $500 and the chimp goes a couple of times a year. Food and medicine will be at least a couple hundred dollars per month. And, of course, those Baby Gap clothes are really cute, but oh, so expensive!

Not rich enough for a chimp? How about a monkey?

The short answer is 'no'. Let's address those 'cheap' or 'free' monkeys first. If someone is selling a monkey cheap you can bet that this is an older monkey and certain to have behavioral problems. These monkeys are often passed around from owner to owner and can be very aggressive. One monkey we know has killed various animals - including other monkeys. If you want a pet, don't even think about buying an older monkey.

Monkeys can live 15 - 30 years; depending upon the breed. They mature at different rates depending on the breed, but you can play with them as cute, controllable little babies only up they are 7-9 months old. After that they may be sweet and gentle for a few years. Capuchins may enter puberty around 5-6 years old. De Brazza's may mature a bit later and others enter puberty a little earlier. After puberty most primates will become more aggressive. This is especially true for male primates.

Monkeys are easier to care for than Chimps, but it is still hard. They require special cages and require constant intellectual stimulation to remain healthy. In almost all cases, you can't let the monkey roam free in the house. They will tear the house apart or hurt themselves. Picture a monkey putting their hand on a hot stove or biting an electrical cord.

Most monkeys do not throw feces, but you will need a diaper on them if you plan on keeping them in your home. You will need to change the diaper throughout the day and watch for diaper rash. It isn't hard to nappy train them if you start when they are babies, but some monkeys just don't want to wear them. Monkeys are really fast (and work in three dimensions), so good luck chasing them down if they don't want to wear their diaper.

If you already own a monk and truly care about your monkey, you will be sure that he/she gets top flight care from a veterinarian. It isn't fair to the animal if they aren't getting the same care that a person gets. It can be expensive - thousands of dollars in some cases. A well-nourished, proper diet is paramount to their good health as well. Just as junk food isn't good for a human, it isn't good for a monk either!

Monkeys may not do well with strangers, so finding a trained, reliable baby-sitter. Plus, not every ';sitter'; wants to change a monk nappy! Unless you have a trained person that is known by the monk, the best you can usually do while is to leave them in their cage while someone else gives them food and water. Most people with monkeys give up going out or going on vacation. It isn't impossible - it's just hard.

Monkeys are social animals. They either need another monkey or they need you as their constant friend. Monkeys that don't have this become isolated and often become mildly neurotic. Think about the kid who gets left out of everything at school and becomes a psychopath and you are beginning to understand what happens to a monkey who doesn't get enough attention.

Contrary to urban legend, monkeys are not responsible for disease. Unfortunately, they are very susceptible to human disease. Monkeys raised in captivity do not have the same immune systems. We have had monkeys die from diseases they picked up from children or others. Colds, viruses and the flu bug are all very dangerous to your monk.

Some primates require special licenses and FDA inspections. You can be fined in some cases if you have not followed the proper channels in purchasing your monk. Worse, some localities can seize your baby. Remember the Diana monk in NY that a couple had raised as part of their family and it was seized in not the too distant past? What a heartbreak! That means that you might not be able to move to a certain area because you own a primate.

Bottom line: chimps and monkeys are not good pets. We love all of our babies that we raise. We only wish the best of homes for them. We know more about primates than most people since we have had the opportunity to raise the babies for a number of years. But we would never consider owning a chimp as a pet even for a day and we don't keep baby monkeys longer than six or seven months (and that's a stretch for them being inside our home!) More often than not, a person with a monkey ends up being miserable, the monkey is miserable, and worse, the monkey doesn't get the care it deserves.

What are some alternatives? Sugar gliders are popular. So are chinchillas. Prairie dogs can be fun, but sometimes bite. Bush babies are very popular these days. Ferrets and skunks can actually be great pets and are still uncommon.

If you are insisting on a monkey, at least get a squirrel monkey. These are small primates about 12'; tall. (A lot of people think these are spider monkeys. Spider monkeys are up to four feet tall and very strong. They can smack you around a lot with their long arms.)

So please, love the animals. Visit them at the zoo. Volunteer for a rehab facility. Give money to support abused animals. But don't get a monkey for a pet.

One final note: one thing that you will find is that there are lots of unscrupulous people in this business. Thefts and lies are commonplace. We've heard of situations where people sell a monkey and misrepresent the age, sex, and even breed of the animal. On several occasions we've found people stealing pictures from our website (including pictures of us!) and using them to either sell monkeys or just take unsuspecting people's money. Be sure to get references and never send your money (even a deposit) unless you are absolutely certain of this person. We've run into too many people who have been scammed. One thing you can do is get their USDA number and a picture of a driver's license. You can check with the USDA to see if this person is a valid breeder and has the necessary permits. There are honest brokers (thank goodness!), but you really have to check. We've had federal investigators come to us for unscrupulous ones, received a death threat because we wouldn't sell to one, and even had a guy impersonate a minister. Even if we don't have a monkey for you (or won't sell to you for some reason), we're still willing to help you avoid the scammers so drop a line and we'll put you in touch with breeders and brokers we trust or tell you if we know anything about your potential broker being a scammer.
First thing first, check her to see if they're legal in your state (if you live in the U.S.):

Regardless of how well-intended, there are very few people who have the knowledge and/or resources to provide captive monkeys/apes with adequate care for a lifetime.
